It came about after these events that his master's wife looked with desire at Joseph, and she said, ``Lie with me."īut he refused and said to his master's wife, ``Behold, with me here, my master does not concern himself with anything in the house, and he has put all that he owns in my charge. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance. So he left everything he owned in Joseph's charge and with him there he did not concern himself with anything except the food which he ate. It came about that from the time he made him overseer in his house and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph thus the LORD'S blessing was upon all that he owned, in the house and in the field. So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal servant and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he owned he put in his charge. Now his master saw that the LORD was with him and how the LORD caused all that he did to prosper in his hand. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. The LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt and Potiphar, an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the bodyguard, bought him from the Ishmaelites, who had taken him down there. But the Lord’s priority is our spiritual development. We usually focus on finding God’s plan for our life with regard to circumstances, relationships, and other practical matters. Scripture reveals what God has commanded and how He wants us to live. As the Spirit’s fruit is produced in us, we display Christ’s likeness in our attitudes and responses to people and situations.ģ. God’s purpose is to conform us to the image of His Son. Godliness shines like a light pointing others to Christ and bringing glory to the Father.Ģ.
Righteous living stands out in stark contrast to lifestyles of the world around us. Today we’re going to focus on three ways we glorify God.ġ.
His overall goal for each of us is that we would bring Him glory, and He uses both His Spirit and Word to accomplish this. Many Christians today want to find God’s plan for their life but, sadly, often overlook the one place it’s revealed-the Bible.
